Egg and Prosciutto Cheese Plate (Serbian Meze)
Serbian Meze is a traditional way to start a meal. Meze means little bites or plates and is basically your typical charcuterie or Italian antipasto. Of course, you can use any cured meats and cheeses that you like for this plate. To make it really authentic serve it with a little Sljivovica (Plum Brandy) which is the national drink of Serbia, but fair warning it is potent.
2 eggs, hard-boiled
4 slices prosciutto
4 cornichons
4 pickled onions
8 olives
4 slices feta cheese
Peel and quarter the hard-boiled eggs.
Roll the slices of prosciutto and top with a cornichon and a pickled onion.
Arrange the slices of feta and olives along with the eggs and prosciutto on a platter.
