Blackberry Ketchup

blackberryketchupMake your own blackberry ketchup in minutes with just 6 simple ingredients. It's delicious on bratwurst, turkey burgers, or fries!

4 lb ripe blackberries (about 3½-quarts or 3½ L) (2 kg)
2 lb brown sugar (1 kg)
2 cups vinegar (½ L)
2 tsp. ground cloves (10 mL)
2 tsp. ground cinnamon (10 mL)
1 tsp. allspice, ground (5 mL)

Cook the blackberries slowly for two hours with the sugar, vinegar, cloves, cinnamon, and allspice.

When all is soft, put into jars and cover. Process.

Makes about 5 pints (2½ L).
