Chipotle Sauce
This homemade Chipotle sauce recipe is one of my favourite sauces. I put it on everything from tacos to burritos to enchiladas. And, of course, it's delicious on homemade potato chips or air fryer veggies. This homemade chipotle sauce is easy to make and only requires a few ingredients. Plus, it's low-carb and naturally gluten-free, so everyone can enjoy it.
½ cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream
2 Chipotle peppers from a can called Chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce
2 cloves garlic
½ tsp. extra-virgin olive oil or avocado oil
⅛ tsp. ground cayenne pepper
⅛ tsp. ground smoked paprika or red paprika powder
⅛ tsp. cumin powder
¼ tsp. ground cilantro seasoning
½ tsp. Tabasco sauce
½ tsp. white vinegar
½ tsp. lime juice, freshly squeezed
Optional:
½ tsp. pure honey
Combine all the ingredients together in a food processor.
Blend for 30-60 seconds until all the ingredients are well blended and form the smooth pinkish-orange-ish sauce-like consistency.
With the help of the silicone spatula or a spoon transfer from the food processor into a glass jar or a sauce jar.
Cook's Notes:
- This is a mild recipe. Not very spicy. If you prefer your Chipotle sauce spicier, then you add 3 chipotles peppers and a bit more of cayenne peppers powder.
- The blender that I use is Braun Multiquick which has a food processor.
- You can substitute for Light mayo and light sour cream if you prefer.
- I make this sauce weekly and store it in a glass jar with a lid.
