Dark Chocolate Cherry Fudge (Maraschino)
Delicious, 4-ingredient dark chocolate cherry fudge recipe made with sweetened condensed milk. The classic combination works especially well in this fudge recipe.
2⅔ cups (16 oz) dark chocolate chips (454 g)
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (10 oz) jar maraschino cherries, in syrup
1 pinch sea salt
Line an 8x8" square baking pan with lightly greased parchment paper or non-stick foil. Set aside.
Drain the cherries, reserving 2 Tbsp. of the syrup (optional). Rinse the cherries and cut any large cherries in half. Set aside.
In a double boiler, place the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Slowly melt stirring constantly until blended and smooth.
Stir in the cherries and salt into the mixture. For additional cherry flavour, stir in the 2 Tbsp. of reserved syrup.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Chill until firm, about 2 hours, preferably overnight. Cut into squares.
Makes 25 pieces.
