Gooseberries
The gooseberry bush is a spiny shrub with deeply lobed, dark green leaves and produce bell shaped flowers and green/yellow to red berries approximately 1 inch long containg many tiny seeds.
The European and American varieties - Ribes uva-crispa and Ribes hirtellum, respectively - are the most common types. Both are closely related to black, red, and white currants.
The fruits of the gooseberry bush are small, weighing around 0.1–0.2 oz (3–6 g) each. They vary in colour and can be green, yellow-white, pink, red, or dark purple. Their flavour ranges from tart to sweet.
