Rosemary Simple Syrup
Rosemary simple syrup is as simple as it sounds. With just 3 ingredients you can have a flavourful simple syrup that is perfect for flavuoring all sorts of drinks, baked goods and more.
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 fresh rosemary sprigs
Stir together sugar, water and 4 sprigs of rosemary in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, and boil 1 minute or until sugar is dissolved.
Remove from heat, and let stand 30 minutes. Pour liquid through a wire-mesh strainer into a cruet or airtight container, discarding rosemary sprigs.
Cover and chill 4 hours.
Syrup may be stored in the refrigerator up to 1 month.
Makes about 1 cups.
