Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf (Beef with Cheddar and Chili Sauce Indiana)
Cheddar cheese tucked inside and a flavourful bacon topping dress this meatloaf up just right for Sunday dinner.
½ cup chili sauce
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
⅔ cup dry breadcrumbs
½ tsp. sea salt
¼ tsp. black pepper, freshly cracked
2 lbs lean ground beef (90% lean)
2 strips bacon, halved
Preheat the oven to Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C/160°C fan, Gas Mark 4). Line a 9x5" loaf pan with slightly overlapping pieces of bacon..
In a large bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.
Shape into a loaf in an ungreased 13x9” baking dish. Top with bacon.
Bake, uncovered for 70-80 minutes or until meat is no longer pink and a thermometer reads 160°F.
Drain; let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
