Meat Sauce (Pork)

porkbolognesecheesypangrattatoA hearty, homemade ground pork pasta sauce that is easy to put together and can be ready in about 30 minutes.

1-2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
1 lb ground pork
4-6 large cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. sea salt
¼ tsp. black pepper, freshly ground
1 (28 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes

To Serve:
¼ cup Parmesan cheese, freshly shredded

In a pot, add the oil and onion and cook until the onions become translucent about 3-4 minutes. Add the ground pork and spices.

Cook on medium heat, breaking up the pork into pieces until the pork is browned.

Add in the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, cover the pot, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Serve over pasta.


Cook's Notes: This pasta sauce will keep up to 4 days in an air-tight container, or up to 4 months in the freezer.
