Baked Perch with Mustard and Peppers
This delicious baked perch recipe has the best mustard spice blend topping. You'll bake this fish till tender and juicy. Ocean perch has a lovely mild flavor and firm flesh. It's high in protein and low in fat. It tastes similar to cod and tilapia but has a slightly sweeter flavour and is moister.
1½ lbs ocean perch fillets
1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
1 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. dried mustard
½ tsp. smoked paprika
¼ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
¼ tsp. black pepper, freshly ground
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C/160°C fan, Gas Mark 4).
Pat the fish dry with paper towels.
Place fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet or a greased baking dish.
Brush the tops of the fillets with the oil.
Combine the salt, mustard, paprika, black pepper, and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Stir to mix.
Sprinkle the seasoning over the fish. Rub the seasoning into the fish gently with your fingers.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, until fish reaches an internal temperature of 145°F on an instant-read thermometer and flakes apart easily with a fork.
