Roasted Turnips with Parmesan
Roasted turnips with nutmeg and Parmesan are an easy, tasty side dish as a much healthier alternative to roasted potatoes. Plus, you can make oven roasted turnips easily without a lot of fuss.
2 lbs turnips, peeled and cut into ½" wedges (~ 4 medium)
⅛ tsp. cayenne pepper
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
coarse sea salt
black pepper, freshly cracked
¼ cup (½ oz) Parmesan cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C/225°C fan, Gas Mark 9).
On a rimmed baking sheet, combine turnips, cayenne, nutmeg, and oil. Season with salt and pepper and toss well to coat. Sprinkle with Parmesan and toss gently to combine.
Arrange turnips in a single layer and roast until golden on both sides, 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
