Our maple-glazed pork chops are so delicious, you may just want to try the glaze on other meats too. Made from apple cider vinegar and maple syrup, the glaze is both tangy and sweet and it’s the perfect choice for a tasty pork chop. The entire dish is ready in about 30 minutes, making it perfect for just about any night.
½ cup all-purpose flour, unbleached
sea salt
black pepper, freshly ground
4 (7 oz) pork loin chops, bone-in
2 Tbsp. butter
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
⅓ cup pure maple syrup
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
3 Tbsp. water
⅔ cup brown sugar, packed
In a large shallow dish, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add pork chops and turn to coat. In a large ovenproof skillet, cook chops in butter over medium heat until a thermometer reads 145°F, 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove and keep warm.
Meanwhile, in the same skillet, bring the vinegar to a boil. Reduce heat; add maple syrup. Cover and cook for 10 minutes. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; gradually add to maple mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes.
Place chops on a broiler pan; sprinkle with brown sugar. Broil 4" from the heat until sugar is melted, 1-2 minutes. Drizzle with maple glaze.
Makes 4 servings.
